Privacy & Data Principles
This is an informal statement of my privacy and data handling principles. I'm committed to transparency about how I handle your information, even as a small-scale personal project.
Our Approach
This is a small-scale, one-person project. I'll do my best to protect your privacy, but I can't promise perfection. There may be bugs, and I may make mistakes. When I discover issues, I'll work to fix them as quickly as possible.
Content Privacy
My intention for RobinLetter is that only people in a Robin can see the content posted to that Robin as they use the site. However, please keep in mind that there's nothing stopping those people from using copy/paste, screen capture, or other methods to share content beyond the Robin.
Current User Base
At least initially, all users will be friends and family, and I'll be a member of every Robin as I go through initial testing. Eventually, people will be able to create their own Robins, and that will no longer be true.
Technical Access
After that point, while I don't intend to make a habit of it, I may have to look at content for Robins I'm not a member of to debug technical problems. This would only happen when necessary to resolve issues.
Legal Cooperation
While I don't expect this to be an issue so long as the site is used by friends and family, or even beyond that but still very small, if there are legal or law enforcement matters, I will cooperate with those requirements.
Content Guidelines
I expect users not to post illegal material or material that violates copyrights. RobinLetter claims no ownership or responsibility over what you post.
Data Usage
I won't reuse content you post outside of the Robin you posted it in. RobinLetter will only use your content within the context where you shared it.
